dnd character idea. a bard who gives inspiration by being such a megabitch that everyone tries extra hard to prove them wrong. local cleric says ‘i dont know why but every time they say something i just get this urge to kick them in the shins and so my strength checks have been way better lately’
further this character can never learn to cast the spell friends and uses vicious mockery by yelling compliments that are so sarcastic that the enemy gets really paranoid and insecure trying to find the real meaning. instrument proficiencies are the harmonica, the vuvuzela, and the guitar
I see your free resources with no campaigns and raise you This
If you’re unfamilar with D&D or want a less complicated version, I recommend Fate. https://fate-srd.com You can print out out the character sheets or just keep them on hand in a PDF / image file. The rules are a bit more fast and loose, but still really fun!
Part of me is very fascinated with the idea of mmo rping that’s this complex/multi-layered and the other part of me is concerned that this person dedicated the time to do something this Fucked Up
But I want to know how the others reacted. And if this person had a good in-character motive for this.
They met a Demon at a crossroads, he said they had to make a deal with him or he would steal their souls. The Fighter was like, “Hey can you just wait for 5 seconds for me?”
Demon’s like: “Alright.”
Five seconds later the Fighter says “Alright our deal is complete”
???
“What do you mean our deal is complete?” said the Demon
“Well I asked you to wait 5 seconds, then you agreed. Since you waited 5 seconds, that means our deal is complete right?”
The Demon is in shock, and so am I, the DM. This fighter just out-tricked a freakin’ demon deal by telling the demon to cool his heels for a moment I couldn’t believe it.
And this is when the demon decides to becoming a recurring pest to the party, or a legitimate threat
He actually did, he sent a “bounty hunter” chain devil named Gnev after the party.
I’m reading through the preview PDF of Faerie Fire, a new homebrew D&D 5e book, and this was genuinely joyful to see ♥ I love all the new tabletop resources that are outspokenly, specifically, and proudly inclusive!
You start a game of DnD with a blank character sheet. Your DM has them all. You only discover stats and things as they become relevant.
Like, “I rolled 7 on my constitution check” “You get a +2 bonus so that’s a 9.” *Hurriedly marking it down*
Or
“I would like to ask the innkeeper if there is anything weird going on in the area” “Dragonborn are rare in these parts, so she is suspicious at your approach.” “Wait I’m a DRAGONBORN?!?”
It would be absolute chaos but for a one-shot I feel it would be fun. Maybe all the characters have amnesia and they have to figure out what they can do from scratch.
