Hey your art stuff rocks! I know you’re teaching in Japan, where are you from originally if you care to tell? And how do the cultures differ to you?

I’m originally from Russia (Siberia represent!) and I moved to the US when I was 10. 

UHHH as for cultures, I find that it’s actually been this really fascinating gradient between Russia – America – Japan. 

HOWEVER – I gotta say, America is a huge place, and the cultures between the states differ, sometimes SO much that it’s kinda difficult to generalize. Having worked with people from the midwest, the south, and also from uhhhh CALIFORNIA (u know who u r) I’d say they all exist on a scale of their own. 

Anyway, I can definitely speak to the American midwest though, because that’s where I lived. 

It’s difficult to put into words so I made a map.
