Concept: a competition show in the style of the great british bake off except instead of cooking it’s a bunch of early career scientists competing in a variety of lab experiments from various fields. So one week you have to execute a technically perfect titration and the next you need to design and perfect an assay of some
sort etc. and in between you need to demonstrate a variety of lab techniques like sterile technique and silica column separations and idk some physics things. And at the end one young scientist is crowned queen of the lab and wins like a fellowship or something.

I can imagine the Paul Hollywood character telling somebody they didn’t run enough PCR cycles (science equivalent of underbaked I guess?) and the Mary Berry character politely but firmly noting the electrophoresis results are incorrect. Science Mel-and-Sue make science innuendos and comfort the contestant who breaks down in tears after realising they did their serial dilutions all wrong and need to start again!

….I may have gotten carried away

Rushing to get all your tubes properly labeled (with the full description/sample number, date, and your initials and everything, not just the temporary shorthand like tubes 1.1, 1.2, 2.1…) at the very last second is the equivalent of rushing to make sure the final presentation of the food is perfect (plating or whatever? idk I don’t actually watch these shows)
