Hey is it alright if you tell us a few stories about your sister when she was a nurse?

I just asked my sis if I could tell her stories here and she was fine with it so ok.

isolation room

there’s this type of room in the hospital called an isolation room which is basically just a room with like a whole wall just being windows facing the corridor and the way to get in is through a smaller room called the “anteroom”. Something like this:

the place she worked in had one at the very end of the corridor so not a lot of people pass by it especially during a graveyard shift. The windows had blinds for the patient’s privacy but you can still see by their silhouette if someone is peeking through it.

Anyway, one night, two resident doctors and a nurse were talking inside when a doctor noticed someone was peeking through the blinds.

the other doctor noticed the silhouette too and was about to check who it was when the nurse told them she doesn’t see anything. But soon they noticed it entered the anteroom. The doctor suggested they stop discussing it (in case whatever the entity was was attracted to attention).

The silhouette never entered the isolation room.

the child

this happened to one of my sis’ colleagues. She cared for a child who was in a really bad condition. He only lasted for so long.

A day after his death, a few of them noticed the kid was still there. Sticking to her like glue… or rather, like a lost kid.

apparently, he followed her around for her whole shift. The next day, he was gone.

Hopefully, he’s not lost anymore.

paintings with eyes

This isn’t really ghost related but the hospital my sis worked at used to have paintings hanging in all the patient rooms. They were almost as old as the hospital itself  but the older they got, the creepier they became and they started receiving complaints from patients to get rid of the painting in their rooms because it was “staring at them”.

The belief was that all these decades that the paintings were hanging there, it was witness to all the deaths in those rooms too. Supernatural or not, to have something like that, whether it’s a portrait or not, stare you down the same way it has stared down all the other patients before you, just kind of makes you feel more aware of your own mortality.

Eventually, they had all the paintings removed and put in storage. Years later, when they were cleaning out the storage room, they had the paintings removed as well. The one in charge of carrying the stuff mentioned the paintings were all staring at them.

the circular stairs

there’s a badly lit circular stairs that’s a restricted area as it connects several units in the hospital. So newly delivered babies would then be carried to the circular stairs up to the nursery. One day, as one of my sister’s colleagues walked out of the nursery, she noticed a woman in patient clothing walking up to her. It was a lady who passed away yesterday due to child birth.

They say, it was common for “former mothers” to wander around in that area looking for their babies. Sometimes, if you peek through the gaps between the stairs, something would peek back at you.
